Thanks for taking the time to read my dog blog. That's fun to say - dog blog, dog blog. Just rolls off the tongue and I have a pretty big tongue for things to roll off of, and for giving kisses. I like giving kisses.
I am a dog. Yup, I am part of the canine nation. I was born on March 23, 2018 and was adopted by my hoomuns in 2020 from Houndhaven, Inc. in Florida. I don't remember what happened from when I was born to being adopted. I only know that I am now living my best life ever. I always say live in the present and I like presents, especially the ones I can eat! Not that it would make any difference in anything we did a Wisdom Panel DNA test, and I am mostly Alaskan Malamute (this is where my singing voice comes from), American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Boxer, and German Shorthaired Pointer. We did a different brand of DNA testing first that came back as 100% Alaskan Malamute, but I knew I was more than that. The American Kennel Club classifies me as an All American Dog. According to my hoomans (and everyone who knows me) I am the bestest dog ever and that is really all that matters.
Just a quick bark out to Houndhaven, Inc who has helped almost 2,000 dogs find their furever homes like mine. They are now going in a different direction with Houndhaven Helps by assisting with the cost of surgeries and some other issues that my nation sometimes have. Check out the stories for Dolly, Cleo, Tanner, Abby, and Edward's funds. You can also read how they have already helped Mooshi and Bubba. Go to www.houndhaven.org to see how you too can help.
How did this start? It all came about near the middle of covid. My hoomuns and I were taking our regular walk around the neighborhood and stopped to look all the big vehicles in the storage area. They called them RV's and Travel Trailers. While I was sniffing the latest pmail on the fence post and getting ready to leave my reply my hoomuns asked me why people were not out enjoying nature and the great outdoors. They then asked me if I would like to travel around in something like that but a lot smaller for us because we did not want to leave a big footprint. I was done leaving my reply on the fence post and looked at my hoomuns feet. They are bigger than mine, but I don't think they are that big. There are some things that I don't understand but I wagged my tail in agreement because I am a very agreeable boy. I really agree to treats! We continued to talk about this idea and how life would be like living in a small travel trailer and exploring any place we could drive to. They talked about seeing all the sights that one does not normally see like the biggest ball of twine or a statue of the Swamp Ape. I thought we really should focus on finding the biggest dog treat or chew toy. The more we talked about it the more we wanted to do it. So, we did. Downsizing was not fun for my hoomuns who asked my opinion about getting rid of things which I did not care about until they talked about donating my beds, blankets, extra chew toys, and stuffies to needy pups in the area. I had to think about the chew toys and stuffies for a little while but agreed they could go but only to needy pups.
As for the dog blog (yup, still fun to say) my hoomuns' friends wanted to know what we were doing as we traveled so they could live vicariously through us, and I suggested it should be from my point of view which is literally 2 feet from the floor. So here we are living life to the fullest and sharing our adventures. We were going to start last year but gas prices went up. I reminded my hoomuns about the time that I set off the carbon monoxide detector because I ate too much cabbage and was a bit gassy so I would be happy to help with the gas issue if they just fed me lots of cabbage. They explained the difference between the types of gasses, which of course I paid no attention to because there were no treats that went along with the explanation. They also said that there would not be any more cabbage for me. During this year we will be exploring and sharing our adventures here in Florida until we actually hit the road. I think that might hurt, hitting a road, but sometimes my hoomuns say things I don't quite understand. I hope you will come along with us and enjoy reading about our adventures.
Until next week tail wags and kisses, Rownen out.
